Mia grew up beside the seas of Malaysia.

With Malaysia situated in the tropics, the weather was never cold. Due to the proximity and beauty, Mia spent a lot of her younger years playing and swimming by the nearby beaches.

Through the years, however, Mia could not help but notice that more and more trash was washing up onto her beloved beaches. And with each passing year, the water on the beaches was becoming less and less clear; with a corresponding noticeable steady decrease in numbers in its marine lives.

Aware of the harm and damages such human pollution and global warming had caused to the local marine lives, young Mia long vowed to protect the environment and her beloved beaches to the best of her abilities.

As an avid nature advocate, young Mia, with the help of her parents, petitioned with success for the local government to ban all fishing; and eliminate any kind of sewage discharges nearby her beloved beautiful beaches.
And from time to time young Mia, with the help of her parents, would actively organize all their friends, schoolmates; teachers, and neighbors to pick up all the washed-up trash from the white beaches

Thanks to Mia's enthusiasm and continued care, noticeably fish and coral lives slowly started to bloom again. Now even the elusive dolphins started to return to the coastal water.

One quiet night Mia was swimming alone in her familiar shallow beach waters when a sudden gust of wind and an unexceptional strong current unexpectedly pushed her out into the ocean.

By the time Mia had escaped from the strong current, she already found herself about a mile away from the coast.

In realization of the danger, Mia frantically swam towards the coastline, yet the strong winds and the still strong water currents fought against her.

Mia was losing stamina quickly; her breaths became shorter and faster and her body felt heavier and heavier in the water. Alone in that stretch of water, with no help in sight, it seem like young Mia was doomed!

Suddenly, she felt something hard that pushed up below against her chest, and quickly lifted her above and out of the water.

Amazed, Mia quickly looked down at what was beneath her, and found that she was riding something grey; slick in surface, with a long protruding mouth that emitted occasional loud eerie sounds.

Looking around, Mia came to realize that she was surrounded by a group of dolphins jumping in and out of the water. And in total amazement, Mia came to realize that she was probably riding on a dolphin as well!

To ratify her thoughts, Mia quickly studies the mouth of the animal beneath her.

“Yup!” she confirmed, “these are the dolphin’s features, the long mouth, the small teeth…”

To Mia’s delight, the dolphin she was riding on, was swimming towards the shore at an astonishing speed. But unlike the dolphins surrounding Mia, and lucky for Mia, her dolphin did not go in and out of the water at all.

The fish seemed resolute to keep Mia afloat above water.

It was not before long until the group of dolphins reached the shallow coastal water, where the dolphins could not go any further,

The dolphin carrying Mia suddenly sank and dislodged Mia off its back. In a surprise, Mia abruptly fell into the water and gulped down a mouthful of the salty water in the process. But by then the water was so shallow and waist-deep that Mia could easily stand up in the shallow water.

Mia was saved!

Without warning, the dolphins were already away, back into the deep ocean.

In gratitude, Mia waved and salute into the darkness, towards the dolphins that saved her. ”Thank you, my friends.” Mia murmured.
